Round-up of the 2024 Royal Welsh Show

In July, the WI was back at the Royal Welsh Show, the biggest agricultural show in Europe which attracts over 200,000 visitors annually.The WI stand was hosted by Ceredigion Federation who designed an eye-catching and engaging stand on the theme ‘Attainable is Sustainable’. The exhibit showcased the WI’s commitment to sustainability, highlighting our environmental campaigns, as well as demonstrating actions that we can all take to live more sustainably such as make do and mend, upcycling, and looking after nature and our oceans.During the four days, members of Ceredigion Federation led demonstrations on the stand, generating a lot of interest from Show visitors. Demonstrations included sustainable flower arranging, rag rug weaving; Iris folding cards; folded star patchwork; papercraft and felting.On the show's first day, the WI’s Rose Bowl (produce and handicraft) and Brecon Cup (floral art) competitions on the theme ‘A Welsh Myth or Legend’ were judged.
