Coronation Gardens for Food and Nature
In June 2023 the WI joined in partnership with The Wildlife Trusts, Incredible Edible, and Garden Organic, to pay tribute to His Majesty, King Charles III’s long-standing commitment to the natural world and the environment. Coronation Gardens for Food and Nature is a programme that hopes to enthuse millions of people and communities across the United Kingdom to live sustainably and help wildlife recover by growing food and creating space for nature in gardens, on balconies, and in shared greenspaces. This will include providing advice and resources and encouraging people to pledge their gardens or greenspaces on a map.
As part of the Coronation Gardens project, along with our partner organisations, the WI is encouraging and supporting schools to take part in creating these fantastic growing spaces. The WI is providing a range of exciting projects and crafts that schools can use to make use of all their Coronation Garden produce. To find out more and view the projects click here.
