You will need:
Materials:
- Double-sided origami paper minimum 13cm square
- Gift cord string
Equipment:
- Scissors
- Pencil
- Ruler
- Set square
- Glue
- Paper clips
- Stapler
- Bradawl
To make
1. To make 1 star, cut 2 x 13cm squares of paper. Fold 1 square in half horizontally and crease along the fold line. Reverse the paper then crease across the diagonals.
2. Bring the outer edges of the horizontal fold together and press flat.
3. Fold in half, bringing the outer points together and crease the fold line.
4. Fold base corner over at an angle and crease the fold line well. Repeat steps 1 to 3 with the remaining square.
5. Apply glue to the outer side of each folded over corner. With fold lines matching, stick the 2 triangles together as shown. Leave to dry.
6. Trim off the base at the lower corners and staple along the fold line. Large stars should measure about 4cm deep along the fold line, medium stars 3cm and small stars a bit less.
7. Spread the star points, and then insert your fingers into the inner corners to open them up. Make a hole 6mm inside 1 point. Cut a length of string, thread through the hole and knot the ends. Repeat steps 1 to 7 with pairs of 13cm, 10cm and 8cm squares.
