Halloween treat box
You will need:
- Box template – download
- Sheet of A4 thin card and small pieces of contrast colour for motifs
- Short piece of matching ribbon
- Glue or double-sided tape to attach motifs
- Scissors or craft knife and cutting mat
- Hole punch
- Ruler
- Bone folder or spoon
- Ballpoint pen
- Items for decoration – if required
- Cupcake cases – if required
To make
1. Put the pattern sheet on top of the coloured card and cut through both layers. You may find this easier to do with a craft knife and cutting mat, though scissors are fine.
2. Line the pattern and the coloured card up carefully, and score along all the fold lines. This is easiest done through the pattern with a bone folder, spoon or ball point pen.
3. Take your time to do this carefully, because it will make the next stage so much easier. When you are sure you have scored the card enough, put the pattern sheet to the side and carefully work around the scored folds, making a crisp crease on each to ensure a neat end result.
4. Decorate your box as if you wish. You could use punched or cut out shapes and text.
5. Punch a hole in the 2 larger flaps and thread a small piece of ribbon through to tie.
6. Fill your box with treats! Why not have a go at this seasonal treacle toffee recipe?
Tip: If you’re making sticky/unwrapped sweets, you may wish to line the box with a cupcake case.
