Eid Crackers

Gift your family or friends a cracker this Eid - filled with chocolate, stuffed dates or nougat. Eid-al-Fitr, also known as ‘The Festival of Breaking the Fast’ is a religious holiday in the Muslim calendar to mark the end of the fasting of Ramadan.

You will need:

Finished size: 16 x 6 cm approximately

  • PDF Template: Download here
  • Coloured card
  • Ribbon
  • Glue
  • Craft knife and cutting mat and/or scissors
  • Pencil
  • Ruler

To make:

1. Print out the ‘Eid Cracker Template’ onto a piece of card to create your own template which can be used again and again. Cut around the outer lines of the template and cut out the diamond-shaped shaded areas using your craft knife or scissors.

2. On the coloured card in which you would like to make your cracker, draw around the template. Move the template to one side.

3. Cut around the cracker outline drawn on the coloured card and cut out the diamond-shaped areas. Using the template as a guide, carefully make the score lines as indicated in red.

4. Carefully fold the cracker so that one of the ‘section’ overlaps another and glue. There should be six sides to the cracker.

5. Using the scored lines as a guide, push the ends of the cracker towards the middle to create the cracker shape. Add your sweet treats to the middle section. Cut two lengths of ribbon and add one to either side to close.

6. Embellish with your own design.

7. Gift your crackers to your family and friends or use to decorate your table.
