Celebrate Thank You Day on 7 July

Now a permanent date in the WI's calendar, Together Coalition's Thank You Day campaign began during COVID-19 as a way to say thank you to local organisations and people who helped us through what was a difficult time.

Since then, the campaign has grown to include millions of people taking part in Thank You Day celebrations. Last year WI's took part by singing the Tony Christie 'Thank You For Being a Friend' song in local pubs, community centres and parks.

This year the campaign is encouraging local groups and people to put on 'Community Takeovers'. 'Community Takeovers' would be events that take over local community spaces, get everyone together to meet new people, to say thank you and celebrate what makes your local area great. At the heart of it can be fun and food that reflects the diversity of your community and what makes it home. Please see below for a guide to Thank You Day and a guide to putting on your own community event to celebrate. We'd love to hear about your takeovers! Email pr@nfwi.org.uk so that we can promote them beforehand on our socials and in the press.
