Karen Lake
Director of People and Culture
Karen Lake is a committed MCIPD HR professional and part of the NFWI Leadership Team. She strongly believes that people are the key to organisational success and that they should be supported by a culture that is engaging, compassionate, and has the ability to inspire greatness in its staff.
Karen is proud to have introduced the NFWI Menopause Policy, which aims to break down the stigma surrounding menopause in the workplace, empower staff to speak about their own experiences, and offer an avenue of support for anyone who needs it. She is also delighted that the NFWI achieved the Living Wage accreditation and firmly believes that enabling staff to receive a fair and equitable wage aligns with the organisation’s commitment to investing in staff and championing people-based values.
Karen also provides HR and employment advice to WI federations, sharing her expertise and knowledge to help them support their staff teams in fostering a positive working culture, and cultivating an environment that ensures people remain at the forefront of the organisation at all levels.
She is a lifelong season ticket holder at Fulham Football Club and is pleased to see so many more women at the game.
