Ann Mitchell
Chair of WI Enterprises Ltd Board
Ann Mitchell joined the NFWI Board in November 2022 and is Chair of WI Enterprises Ltd. She served as Membership Committee Vice Chairman and was a Trustee of the Denman Trust from 2023 – 2024. As Chair of WI Enterprises, she also sits on the Finance Committee ex-officio and has been involved in NFWI Strategic Focus groups, including the Education Focus Group and the Virtual WI Meetings Group.
Ann is the pioneer of the NFWI Conversation Café initiative, running a thriving café with Sewerby WI in her local community. During the pandemic, from 2019 to 2022, Ann served as President of Sewerby WI, leading many community initiatives to keep everyone connected and support the town.
Joining the WI in 2012 when she moved to Yorkshire, Ann has been President of Sewerby WI and is a founding member of East Yorkshire Roses Virtual WI Trustee Team.
Ann is a Trustee of the East Yorkshire Federation and has served as Vice Chair. She trained as a WI Adviser in 2019 and was elected Federation Membership Chairman in January 2021. Ann also sits on the East Yorkshire Voices Focus Group, developing public affairs strategies. In addition, she is a member of the Humberside and Lincolnshire Police Commission Violence Against Women and Girls Independent Advisory Board, a role she is passionate about.
Ann started her career leading a sales and marketing team for an international drinks company before relocating to work for Lloyd’s of London as a broker. Her move to Yorkshire led her to retrain in the primary education sector with a focus on SEND.
Ann’s interests include sea swimming and water sports along with volunteering within her local community.
